Garlic spray deployed!

Today I filtered the garlic spray twice so chunks won’t clog the sprayer.
Then I spritzed all over inside the mini greenhouse hoops area as well as directly on a few test chamomiles indoors. I think the neem oil may have made a few baby peppers and tomatoes wilt so hopefully this spray is less angering.

Earwigs indoors 😤

We mixed up neem oil concentrate with water according to the directions (~0.4 g oil per 2 oz water ie the size of our little glass spritzer bottles), and spritzed all the baby plants. We’ve seen three earwigs inside near the plants since repotting last night and several tomatillos, peppers, and chamomile look a bit worse for the wear.

Indoor repotting

We got almost an inch of sleet today.
Briar’s toes provide excellent grip.
Squirrel tree in our neighborhood.
This evening we repotted baby tomatoes and peppers. Mid last week I forgot some other repotted tomatoes outside and they froze. So those three varieties are being germinated again. But meanwhile these babies needed new pots.
One dwarf tomato is thriving and fruiting; the other is drying up and has spider mites. Paula bought a basil and is keeping it alive. The indoor peppers have a good head start for spring but I doubt will fully fruit by then.

Field trip for indoor plants and tomato gets a new cage

Roman chamomile and Peruvian ground cherry soak up sun and water.
Left dwarf tomato is Audrey’s Love that has right. Right dwarf tomato is Bendigo Dawn which has flowers but no fruit. Paula suggested we add bone meal so we did.
We also added a bigger cage for climbing for the Bendigo Dawn tomato.
Lettuce, peppers, bok choy, and jagallo nero kale.

Thinking of summer yesterday

Tomatoes, peppers, tomatillos, and chard and roman chamomile in all the rest. We need a lot of chamomile starts as I want to use it as a ground cover around the vegetable raised beds.

Gram’s not sure about outside leash time but he’s getting more confident.
He always perks up and feels safer when big sister comes by to check on him.

Maybe he could do without getting groomed. She nibbles him.

Peppers in the air

Purple beauty bell pepper in top planter and chocolate bell pepper in bottom planter. The Chef kindly hung the planters for me.
