We had a lot of germination of Indigofera miniata this spring and around five individuals have survived to planting size and then nibbling by yard bunnies (one even grew back!).

Winter tepary harvesting

Over the winter, we’ve gradually pulled down dried tepary bean pods from the trellis. The ones with the most air around them have molded least. I think it would be better if we harvested them more promptly but c’est la vie.

02/11/2024 surprises!

A white pea flower with delicate green veins, at the end of its twining vine.
I was delighted to find two sugar peas in the hanging planter had flowered!
Heavy wet snow on the green surfaces of the front yard beds and trellises. The driveway is full of puddles, still liquid.
Morning rain turned into afternoon fluffy snow, which went on all evening!
