07/03/2024 scarlet pea success!

We had a lot of germination of Indigofera miniata this spring and around five individuals have survived to planting size and then nibbling by yard bunnies (one even grew back!).

As hoped, we got them seeded before rain. They’ve now had several inches of rain to support their summer growth!

05/12/2024 infrastructure

We got more rain overnight and I needed to smooth out the disturbed soil near the house foundation where we recently got piers. While I had the hoe out, I scraped out some little drainage ditches to pull some water away from the porch.

05/11/2024 supposed to rain tonight sadly

Why sadly? Well, it’s good for the new plants I just put out because the forecast is pretty firm about rain, but it’s going to obscure possibilities for more of a rare G5 geomagnetic storm that resulted in the aurora borealis visible FROM OUR DRIVEWAY. Check out the view last night at Texas home on Mom’s blog too!
