06/25/2024 bean time

We put out the summer beans and okra a bit late but the beans are sprouting! (I forgot to look at the okra and I’m not going back out in this heat.)

This seedling has such plump red speckled seed leaves! This variety is from Rancho Gordo, the Chiapas black bean. We’re not sure if it’s a pole bean or bush bean but I guess we’ll find out! I also noticed Inca pea beans, vaquero beans, and Anasazi beans (from the farm share) up. I didn’t check on the okra. I think that’s everybean?
