A single scarlet pea is growing, I think from the scarified seeds we planted, in the red section of the rainbow garden. (The plant to the left is a standing cypress.) The in-ground plant is a similar size to the potted-for-transplant seedlings. I hope the similar size suggests that all of them have found suitable mycorrhizal partners. Last night I also planted three other scarlet peas (the middle one not doing well) in the rock garden and set up a leaky jug to water them. The soil in this spot really repels water once it dries out!
