Posted on October 1, 2024October 1, 2024 by larksparrow10/01/2024 fluffy asters and giant sunchokes I love fall flowers! Symphyotrichum drummomdii, Drummond’s aster, is filling in with more flowers for a fluffy look. Zoomed out so you can see the aster plant growing among the blue mistflower. The rock garden and rainbow garden are doing alright. The Liatris punctata is already starting to fade. Those are the tall purple stalks. The Maximilian sunflowers back by the house are just getting started though! A human for scale with our towering Helianthus tuberosa, the sunchoke! The lemongrass in front is looking good too. Unfortunately this beauty turned out to be a human introduced annual hibiscus that can spread in disturbed areas. Since it prefers disturbed areas, it’s unlikely to be a problem in established ecosystems, but it was in a bad spot in the yard so we removed it.
Wow! That sunshine is huge. Mine never got that tall. Must be the gardener.
Sunchoke!!
Your garden looks so pretty! 👏🙌
