Super excited the legume growing season is starting well.
Jeanne very kindly sent me a big envelope full of Goat’s Rue seeds last summer. We counted at least three babies pushing up through the soil! One in the lidded yogurt container and two in open containers! I bet they will love the warm weather this week.
I found some instructions from Missouri Wildflower Nursery here: https://mowildflowers.net/tephrosia-virginiana-goats-rue/ We ended up pouring boiling water over the seeds, letting the water cool and sit 24 hrs. That seemed to do the trick! We also added a mix of different legume inocula just in case they need it after sprouting.
That’s super!
Oh that’s wonderful! 👏🏻
More and more babies 👍🏽
Wow, I don’t think I’ve heard of another person growing goat’s rue. Did you need to do any seed scarification?
