I look it up, it is most probably D. carolinensis according to Atlas of Texas plants. The D. recurvata is a Texas endemic and the Atlas shows it only in the Hill Country. Suppose to bloom in April so I guess I have to wait until next year to see a bloom.
Maybe you could use some Engelmann daisies for yellow?

I love the common name for Dichondra – ponysfoot. I also thought it was non-native until relatively recently. Happy it’s not!

Dichondra is bout impossible to get rid of. Rainbow garden is pretty anyway.
