Rainbow garden beds progress

Replanted coreopsis looking rather worse for the wear but still has some leaves, so I hope for its recovery.
Mealy blue sage for blue. Seedlings transplanted to pots from near the house ones, and now grown big enough for the ground.
Culinary sage for a light purple.
Waiting on other colors but you can see it’s starting to take shape! The peach tree will be part of the orange section. The butterfly weed seeds will probably take a while to get going, so I am also waiting on some marigold seeds for fast orange.

I love days like this

So many surprises last night and this morning!

A baby frog, probably a gray treefrog?
It hopped from a pot to a carrot leaf. So small. This was my big surprise last night.
First moss rose flower of the season.
Today’s surprise is the tall mystery plant has finally bloomed!
It turned out to be a four-point primrose!! I remember having seeds from Mom and planting them, but I don’t remember planting them in this particular spot. 🤣🤷

Progress on new beds

Excess dirt from our new geothermal HVAC installation is becoming a series of raised beds. I am shaping them for 20-50 min each evening while trying not to overheat.
In the previous photo you might have noticed the dwarf peach tree’s support stick. The tree was very unhappy in its temporary bucket so I prioritized its island and planted it this evening.
A parent robin was stocking up on food in the freshly moved dirt. I know it was a parent because it kept adding food instead of eating it immediately.

The weekend blog crossover episode

Baby zucchini harvest before departure.
Saw a tree cricket on the mint.
Rouge Vif d’Etampes squash has a baby.
Upon arrival to Texas, Junior Supervisor Briar and Senior Director Gracie take a break.
Mustard greens and rouge d’hiver lettuce from the garden in a fancy salad by Mom!
Mom has outdone herself again with fresh blackberry sorbet. The mint leaves are from my garden.
Upon return to Oklahoma, a very fine toad was seen. An excellent weekend visiting with our southern blog colleagues.
