Paula saw another of these, the two-spotted longhorn bee, on loofahs recently. Here are its distinctive two spots. Yesterday I saw a Bombus pennsylvanicus. Another Bombus pennsylvanicus, two days ago. These on the ironweeds have been the first ones I’ve seen this year.
I need to get ironweed established in my yard. I say that every year when I see it – so pretty. Loading... Reply
It was quite easy from seeds. Got the seeds from home. Put them out and have two different patches now. No trouble at all at least for my yard! Loading... Reply
