I think the soil in the front nook may be good for them, since the standing cypress germinated there!
When i worked for a nursery many yrs ago it was a nono to touch the stem of young seedlings. In fact when we transplanted them we used leaves to hold them, not stems. Something about causing some illness but dont remember what. Maybe someone out there knows? Seedlings look healthy.
