I see these in my yard too but have not tried to ID them yet.
You have gotten those guys before and they got to be the prettiest around! Is it the Red-banded Leafhopper Graphocephala coccinea like I found here?
It seems to be according to my new Abbott and Abbott tx insect book assuming nothing else similar not illustrated
