Posted on November 6, 2021November 6, 2021 by larksparrowVery exciting very large skipper I believe this is a Brazilian Skipper. It may be a new county record! It was SO BIG, just a little smaller than a sphinx moth. Apparently they are regular in central Texas and elsewhere south, but wander north in the fall.
Their host plant in our area is Canna. When I grew a dwarf Canna in a pot for a few years I would find their caterpillars on my plant. I never saw the adult though. Loading... Reply
